Positions involving confidentiality
Positions involving confidentiality are positions in the private or public sector where an abuse of office could endanger national security.
This may be, for example, because the duties involve working with confidential information, or because the employee requires access to the secure area of an airport. Positions that are bound by confidentiality are determined by the ministers in the relevant government departments.
Persons employed in such a position have a special responsibility. The government and your employer therefore impose strict requirements on reliability, trustworthiness and integrity.
The purpose of an AIVD security screening is to ensure that there are sufficient guarantees that you comply with these requirements.
