An employee who fulfils or is aiming to fill a position involving confidentiality or requires a clearance, has to undergo a security screening.
During the security screening, the employee is called the person under consideration for or in a position involving confidentiality. The employer applies for the security screening with the Security Screening Unit (Unit Veiligheidsonderzoeken, UVO). In order to carry out a security screening, the person under consideration for or in a position involving confidentiality has to fill out a Statement Personal Details (Opgave Persoonlijke Gegevens, OPG). The UVO will start the security screening as soon as the application from the employer and the OPG have been received. It could be the case that additional information is required. The person under consideration for or in a position involving confidentiality will be notified of this.
