If you have applied for or hold a position that is designated a "position involving confidentiality" (a so-called vertrouwensfunctie), you need a "certificate of no objection" (Verklaring van geen bezwaar, VGB) issued by the AIVD.
The AIVD carries out security screening for candidates who have applied for positions involving confidentiality. Screening is carried out at Level A (the most extensive screening), Level B or Level C.
