The employer has to delist the official in a position involving confidentiality if this person stops holding a position involving confidentiality for which the VGB has been issued.

The obligation to delist an official in a position involving confidentiality has to do with the fact that the Security Screening Unit (Unit Veiligheidsonderzoeken, UVO) can get a report on a person in a position involving confidentiality which gives cause to a renewed security screening. The UVO is only allowed to do this for  persons active in a position involving confidentiality.

How can I delist an official in a position involving confidentiality?

You can delist an official in a position involving confidentiality via the e-AV portal of the UVO. This can be done under the tab ‘Register’ under ‘delist’. In order to delist someone, some data has to be filled in, such as the surname, date of birth, and the Dutch citizens service number (BSN) of the person in a position involving confidentiality in question. If no BSN is known, the VGB reference will suffice.

ABDO and ABRO companies

Companies which fall under the General Security Requirements for Defence Contracts (Algemene Beveiligingseisen voor Defensieopdrachten, ABDO) or General Security Requirements for Government Contracts (Algemene Beveiligingseisen Rijksoverheid Opdrachten, ABRO) also have to fill in an discharge declaration if a person in a position involving confidentiality stops holding the position involving confidentiality. You can find more information on this in the ABDO and ABRO provisions
