To open the Spelling preferences, choose “Edit” in the toolbar menu on top of the screen .
- Then choose “Preferences”.
- Select “Spelling” on the left .
- Disable the “Check Spelling While Typing” by unchecking the box (so that the tick has disappeared), then click on OK.
